Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the added 0.57% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the were Engie SA (PA:), which rose 2.15% or 0.28 points to trade at 13.28 at the close. Meanwhile, Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:) added 1.66% or 1.75 points to end at 107.10 and Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:) was up 1.06% or 0.48 points to 45.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NV Bekaert SA (BR:), which fell 0.29% or 0.14 points to trade at 45.87 at the close. Sofina (BR:) declined 0.15% or 0.20 points to end at 129.90 and Proximus NV (BR:) was down 0.15% or 0.04 points to 29.41.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 65 to 41 and 17 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.04% or 0.50 to $1245.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.12% or 0.06 to hit $50.41 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.26% or 0.14 to trade at $53.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.18% to 1.0695, while EUR/GBP fell 0.35% to 0.8532.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 100.19.
