Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The best performers of the session on the were Braskem SA (SA:), which rose 3.88% or 0.90 points to trade at 24.11 at the close. Meanwhile, Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA:) added 2.66% or 0.09 points to end at 3.47 and ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA:) was up 1.69% or 0.120 points to 7.200 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vale SA (SA:), which fell 4.30% or 0.65 points to trade at 14.47 at the close. Vale SA (SA:) declined 4.02% or 0.71 points to end at 16.94 and Bradespar SA (SA:) was down 3.56% or 0.38 points to 10.28.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 191 to 142 and 39 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.40% to 33.06.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.32% or 4.25 to $1312.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.28% or 1.52 to hit $44.83 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 0.67% or 0.97 to trade at $146.77 .
USD/BRL was down 0.29% to 3.2311, while EUR/BRL fell 0.17% to 3.6044.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 96.02.
